Making Music: Monkey Puzzle Grange Road Preschoolers Visit King’s College School

Heard a lot of happy chatter and laughter in the area today? That was the preschool children from Monkey Puzzle Grange Road, our Cambridge day nursery, on their way to their very first music-making lesson at King’s College School.

Part of Our School Readiness Programme

These music lessons are part of our school readiness programme. They give our preschoolers the chance to explore a new environment, meet teachers, and express their artistic talents through music. We’re very grateful for our partnership with King’s College School, which helps support our children’s smooth transition to whichever school they move on to next year.

What This Means for Your Child

Starting school is a big step, and familiarity makes all the difference. By spending time in a real school setting, getting to know new adults and new routines, your child can approach that first day with confidence rather than nerves. Music adds something special too, giving children a joyful way to express themselves, listen, and join in with others. It’s one of the ways our Cambridge nursery and childcare team prepares every preschooler for the move from early years to school, so they’re ready to thrive wherever they go next.
